When we first moved to Oxford we bought a house in Kidlington were we lived for two uneventful years.
We then moved to an old house in East Oxford.
At that time we used to go out with some friends of Sandra's from work one Saturday we all decided to
go to see John Cooper Clarke read his poetry at what is now Brookes university.
Here we were introduced to Martin who invited us all back to Hilltop House .
going to parties at Martins Flat became a regular event until he left his job not realising he might not get
another one for quite a while.
With no job came no flat, not wanting to see him on the streets, we offered him a room in our house not knowing
he would still be there over two years later!
Eventually he found a job and moved to London
This was about the time we met Martin, Karen and Dai, and of course Tony.
Dai and Tony were at the time playing in a band called Lethal Dose and were a duo called the DT's.
The DT's used to play every Sunday in the Half Moon on St Clements, I think for free drinks, it must have been
nobody would have paid them to play,
on some Sunday lunch times Tony had to lean on the wall as he was so hungover
we met many other people in pubs like the Half Moon ,The Orange's and Lemons (now the Angel and Greyhound)
and other pubs on the Cowley and Iffley road
Chris continued to work for British Rail and Sandra ended up as Public Relations Officer for British Telecom in Oxford, until the fateful day that they told her she had to move to Bedford due to reorganisation. This did not seem like a good move, so we sold the house, cars and motorbikes, gave lots of stuff (including the cats) away to good homes, bought a 27 year old Landrover and moved to Greece (well, it seemed like a good idea at the time)
